Terrible! I give up on this app.

I can sign into my digital account, and the app even confirms I have an active account, but its as though the login portion and the subscription portion of the app do not communicate. I followed all of the Help categories and read through all the FAQs. I have repeatedly attempted to "restore previous purchases" countless times, and each time the thinking wheel just spins and spins. Today I let it go for 12 hours, thinking perhaps it was just a lengthy process. Nope. It just doesnt work. There is no mention in the app of how one may request assistance. Ive officially given up on EWs app unfortunately.

So Fed Up

Just like the first reviewer here, this app hates me. Ive been trying for over a week now to download even one issue from my new Christmas gift subscription. I am signed into the app, set that up days ago. If I hit the free option I get the same error message again and again telling me to try my download later. Well, ITS LATER. Im irritated. Especially since Ive had no problems using this app with previous subscriptions. Ive googled. Ive combed through blogs, links, and have posted on message boards. Ive accessed EW from every website I could use only to get back to that same error message. Like the previous poster here, Im fed up.

Horrible!! Used to work now app cant tell that Im signed in and am a subscriber and wants to charge me for issues or just let me preview them. Very disappointed

Digital Edition replaced with PDF version

I used to love the digital edition of Entertainment Weekly. The layouts were dynamic and interactive. All of that has been replaced with a basic PDF version of the print edition. Even previous issues that were once digital are now just PDFs. I am extremely disappointed and will not not renewing my subscription.

Dont bother

After having a subscription for over 15 years I could not take it anymore and let it lapse. The mag has become nothing but more than an attempt to push a liberal agenda. Content is no longer interesting and there has been less and less content with each issue. Not as bad as Rolling Stone but getting there.

What happened?

Ive had a subscription for the last couple of years, loved the articles and the content, however its a horrible app. Im paying for a monthly subscription and now it wont let me access the new issues... Only offering a "sneak peek". No issue with taking my money, though. They need to fire their app staff, if theyre serious about their future.

Horrible

I bought a year subscription for the digital download, and I deeply regret it. It crashes every time I try to swipe to the next page. And you can never get it to go back to where you left off. I paid for the magazines just to be mailed to my house so I wouldnt have to deal with it anymore. Dont waste you time and money on the digital, its not worth it!

Rip off

Trying to make me buy new issue even though I have a subscription. This is due to EWs new policy where you are not able to download new issue as part of subscription until several days after release. I will not be renewing.

Love the magazine : hate the app

Entertainment Weekly magazine is one of my all-time favorites. Ive been a reader since their first issue in 1991. This app as well as the desktop digital version of the magazine however are terrible. They are not user-friendly, theyre hard to read, and you have to do too much pinching in zooming to get to the content you want to read. Seems like a company and magazine that is as inventive and focuses on creative people could do better than this.

Terrible app, good magazine

Regularly I am not able to open my subscription, because the app doesnt recognize who I am. I enjoy the magazine, and prefer the digital version, so I will continue to suffer with their app.

Interactivity is useless

I wish we could just get a digital version of the magazine. This app is horrible in that you have to click things in order to read the magazine. Make it like kindle or comixology not interactive.

I love being able to read EW on my tablet. Quality pictures and extra content.

No Landscape Mode?

It is very difficult to read this magazine on my iPad Pro in portrait mode! Please restore Landscape Mode to make hands-free reading possible again. Portrait only mode is a fail.

Broken app, needs repair

Successful paid subscriber log-in no longer gives access to issues. EW needs to hire someone to fix the app, if they can afford to.

UPDATE to worst app!!!

I am astonished by the customer support in a good way! I wrote the very negative review below. Within a day or so I received a very polite note from Cari at EW asking if I were still having problems and offering to help. I wrote back describing how I couldnt get access. By the next morning, they had fixed this issue and extended my subscription. Absolutely astonishing in my experiences its apps.... Now I am a very loyal customer. Good for them! ------------ MY FIRST REVIEW... This is the worst app I have tried in a very long time. I pay for the actual weekly magazine to be delivered. Yet I have never been able to get electronic access. When I try to enroll, it says I am already enrolled. When I try to get a link to change my password since it doesnt recognize any of my usual passwords, it says my email address isnt a real one. Really? Thinking of not renewing at all and just making it all go away. Disgusted and disappointed...
